GOLD – Province of Santiago de Chuco, PERU

THE VILCORO GOLD PROPERTY – SANTIAGO DE CHUCO

In early 2007, Geneva Resources, Inc. reached an agreement to acquire the majority interest in several claim blocks identified as the Vilcoro Gold Property, Peru. The claims lie immediately northeast of the Pueblo of Santiago de Chuco in the District of Santiago de Chuco in the Province of Santiago de Chuco in the Department of La Libertad. A well-maintained gravel road off the paved Pan America Highway at Trujillo passes through the western third of the property. Driving time from Trujillo to the property is about six hours in the rainy season. Road improvements now completed to support Barrick Gold’s nearby operations at Laguna Norte/Alto Chicama, have severely improved access from Trujillo.

The existence of at least seven “socabones” (narrow tunnels plunging about 30 degrees below horizontal) attests to historical evaluation of gold prospects in the Santiago de Chuco area, probably dating from the colonial period between the 16th and 18th centuries. The consulting geologist reviewing the site has evaluated these historical diggings.

Geneva Resources, Inc. is in the process of developing a work plan with the operator on the Vilcoro Property that is expected to include mapping and sampling, concentrating especially on extensions of the mineralized corridor to the west-southwest and east-northeast. It may also include an IP-Resistivity geophysical survey across the structural corridor to check for sulphides and silicified bodies at depth. This would also likely be followed by RC hole drilling and more soil samples taken at the northeast end of the prospective zone, and by trenching to expose the source of the soil anomalies.
